About Tenglong Cave
At the water-cave mouth, the river drops into the feature known as Wolong Tunjiang, or Sleeping Dragon Swallowing the River. The developed dry-cave route uses the enormous chambers for a very different experience, including programmed lighting and theatre. Separate the geological landscape from the performance schedule, and do not mistake the water-cave entrance for a walking route.
Tenglong Cave, whose name means 'soaring dragon cave', lies in eastern Lichuan, Hubei. Its passageways extend for a total of 59.8 kilometres, including an underground watercourse of 16.8 kilometres. The main channel of the Qingjiang River (清江) flows through the cave, forming a waterfall at its mouth that is more than 50 metres wide and drops more than 30 metres. Temperatures underground stay between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The site is a national 5A tourist attraction (国家5A级旅游景区) and a Hubei provincial scenic area (湖北省级风景名胜区).

Travel from Lichuan to the Tenglong Cave visitor entrance and follow the signed dry-cave route. Check the day’s performance times at admission if they matter to your visit; the waterfall and underground show spaces have different viewing arrangements.
