About Zhuoshui Ancient Town
Its stilt-building forms and layered roofs make the bridge a strong contrast to the smaller lanes. An 1888 moral-inscription stele outside Zhuoheba lecture hall records the town’s ideals of honest trade. Courtyard compounds such as Yu Family Courtyard provide a more intimate view of the settlement. Puhua Underground River belongs to the wider scenic area and needs separate excursion planning.
What to look for
- Covered wind-and-rain bridge: layered roofs and Tujia stilt-house forms.
- Tianli Liangxin stele: the 1888 inscription outside Zhuoheba lecture hall.
