Laodingfeng Pastries (老鼎丰糕点) are the pastries and mooncakes of Laodingfeng (老鼎丰), a pastry maker in Harbin (哈尔滨), Heilongjiang, whose factory dates from 1911.

Where it comes from

The Harbin Laodingfeng pastry factory was founded in 1911 and was among the first enterprises that the national Ministry of Internal Trade named China Time-honoured Brands (中华老字号). In June 2004 it was renamed Harbin Laodingfeng Food Co., Ltd.

A 2005 company profile in the Heilongjiang provincial government gazette records the brand's awards. Its pastries and mooncakes were rated national, ministry and provincial quality products several times from 1981 onwards. In 2002 they received the title Harbin Famous Brand, and in 2005 they were named a Heilongjiang Famous Brand, while the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry (中国焙烤食品糖制品工业协会) rated the Laodingfeng mooncake a Chinese famous-brand mooncake.

What it makes

Laodingfeng makes a very wide range: the same gazette profile credits it with more than a thousand kinds of pastry, made for buyers at different levels. Mooncakes are the largest group, organised into eight series with 66 sets and 217 different designs.
