About Wei–Jin Tombs

Farming, herding, cooking and travel appear in compact scenes, bringing the life of the Hexi Corridor into focus at a human scale. The brick-built chambers also show how these images formed part of a tomb’s interior. Visit the interpretation before the available tomb circuit, and distinguish the wider excavated collection from the particular chambers currently open.

What to look for

  • Painted-brick scenes of farming, herding and domestic life.
  • The arrangement of the brick-built tomb chambers on the authorised interior route.

The surrounding area

A separate western Hexi city for the fortified pass and the corridor's historical geography.
