About Chunkun Mountain
Its main summit, Hongqi Peak, reaches 2,340 metres, and the open upper slopes give a very different outlook from the industrial city of Baotou to the south. The mountain's broad grassland ridges are the main attraction, with changing flowers and colours through the growing season. Combine a designated meadow route with an open upper viewpoint, then return through Damiao village at the foot of the mountain.
What to look for
- The high meadow landscape on the mountain's broad upper slopes.
- Hongqi Peak and the long ridge outlook across the surrounding uplands.
The surrounding area
Western city base with a separate monastery excursion to Wudangzhao.
