About China Dinosaurs Park
The museum building and fossil displays provide the scientific subject around which the broader attraction is organized.
Evolution Hall and the forest-themed exhibition areas offer a more focused visit than trying every ride. The surrounding themed attractions interpret dinosaurs through entertainment rather than palaeontological evidence. Separate these two experiences when planning, and use current notices for ride access, shows and any additional resort facilities.
No dinosaur fossils have been unearthed in Jiangsu province. The park originated after a 1996 meeting in which Song Ruixiang (宋瑞祥), then Minister of Geology and Mineral Resources, told Changzhou officials that the ministry held dinosaur fossils; former Changzhou party secretary Yu Zhenxin (虞振新) then proposed that the city fund a museum to display them. Five state-owned enterprises together provided 60 million yuan (6000万元人民币) in start-up capital to build the park.
China Dinosaurs Park is designated a national 5A tourist attraction (国家5A级旅游景区). Its associated Dinosaur Valley Hot Springs, built in 2008, covers 280 mu (0.19 square kilometers) and combines a hot-springs theme park with lodging, a conference center, dining and a spa, with nearly forty pools. Dino Water Town, open since 2014, covers 137,000 square meters and combines shopping, dining, entertainment and lodging around a dinosaur theme.
