About Wang Erlie Memorial Hall
The scholar and calligrapher worked on the Siku Quanshu compilation, but the museum also follows his studies, poetry and return home. Six painted scenes on a front beam in the western courtyard summarise that life visually. The present residence was rebuilt in 1991, so explore it as a biographical museum and architectural reconstruction rather than assuming every room survives from Wang's lifetime.
What to look for
- The six biographical paintings on the western courtyard's front beam.
- The life-history, poetry-and-calligraphy and reconstructed-residence displays.
