About Jingjiang Princes' Palace
The Ming princely seat combines an enclosed palace layout with a karst hill, making it a useful place to understand how Guilin's political history and landscape meet.
Look for the former ceremonial axis, the surviving platforms and stonework around Chengyun Gate and Chengyun Hall, and the four-gate enclosure. The site passed through later political and military uses, so the visible complex represents several periods. Solitary Beauty Peak is a component of this visit; it is not a second palace elsewhere in the city.
What to look for
- Chengyun Gate and the hall platforms, stone balustrades and steps associated with the former princely palace.
- The enclosure and its four historical gateways, which help explain the palace's formal layout.
- Solitary Beauty Peak within the grounds, combining the royal site with Guilin's karst landscape.
Location & getting there
Getting to Jingjiang Princes' Palace
Use the destination 独秀峰·王城景区 / 靖江王城 at 1 Wangcheng Road (王城路1号), Xiufeng District, Guilin. Enter the full scenic-area name when arranging a taxi or a walking route from the central city; 'Jingjiang' alone can return unrelated places.
- Choose a public visitor entrance to the scenic area in your map app. The palace complex and Solitary Beauty Peak are within the same destination, so do not plan a separate cross-city transfer between them.
- If continuing to East–West Alley or Xiaoyao Tower, compare the route from the gate where you finish rather than from the hill's central map pin.
Combine your visit
An old-city combination links the princely complex with the lanes outside it and a riverside landmark. Treat the palace and its internal peak as one main stop.
