About Huashuiwan Hot Spring
On 12 June 2024 the Ministry of Culture and Tourism published a notice, numbered 文旅资源发〔2024〕47号, confirming 22 tourism resort zones as a new batch of national-level tourist resort areas; the Chengdu Xiling Snow Mountain-Huashuiwan Tourism Resort Zone in Sichuan province was one of them.
The People's Daily Sichuan channel reported that the resort zone is planned to cover 19.69 square kilometres across three core areas: the Xiling Snow Mountain ski resort, the Huashuiwan hot-spring resort town and the old street of Xiling town, an area the report describes as combining mountain skiing with valley hot springs. It reported that the designation made Chengdu the only sub-provincial city in western China with two national-level resort zones, and made Dayi County the only county in southern China to hold a national-level tourist resort area, a national AAAAA scenic area and a national ski-tourism resort area together.
