About Dujiangyan Panda Base
Its role includes panda care, rescue and disease prevention, which gives a useful context to the public viewing areas. Follow the open enclosure route and spend time observing feeding and behaviour rather than expecting every panda to be active. This is a different institution and location from Panda Valley and Chengdu’s main breeding base.
What to look for
- Public panda enclosures introduce the animals’ feeding and daily behaviour.
- Conservation interpretation explains the centre’s rescue and animal-care work.
