About Tieniu Gate
Its riverside position makes it a useful place to understand how the town met the waterfront. The present monument reflects rebuilding after its Song-period origins. View the gate from the street side and then from the riverbank, paying attention to the passage between the urban edge and the water rather than expecting a large enclosed attraction.
What to look for
- The surviving gate preserves a passage through the old city boundary.
- The riverbank viewpoint shows the gate’s relationship to Leshan’s waterfront.
