About Wenhai Lake
The balance between open water and exposed grassland changes through the year, so photographs from another season may look quite different from your visit. Village courtyards, grazing country and mountain views surround the lake basin. This is a lived-in highland landscape with ecologically sensitive wet ground; view it from established routes and avoid driving onto the meadow or approaching birds across the shore.

Location & getting there
Getting to Wenhai Lake
Follow Wenhai Road from the Baisha/Fuguo Temple side to the Wenhai lakeside road. The Fuguo–Wenhai section reopened after road improvement in May 2026. Arrange a vehicle and return plan for this mountain-road outing.
