About Bazi Bridge
Its stone-beam crossing divides into several descending approaches, producing the splayed shape behind its name, the Eight-Character Bridge. The design allows land routes to meet while preserving passage along the canals beneath and beside it. Look at the bridge from a bank before crossing: the branching ramps, towpath and waterside houses explain its purpose more clearly than a single view from the top.
