About Wanxiang Cave
Stalactites, stalagmites, columns and curtain-like deposits fill a managed sequence of chambers, traditionally grouped under the names Moon Palace, Heavenly Palace and Dragon Palace. Inscriptions add a human history to the geological forms. The appeal is in comparing how mineral deposits grow into different shapes, while the named palaces are imaginative ways of reading the rock rather than literal structures.
