About Phoenix Mountain Scenic Area
At Dishui Cliff, water and exposed rock form one focus; nearby, two Chinese wingnut trees reach together across a stream and are known as the Xiangsi, or longing, trees. Peony gardens give the area a different character in flowering season. The wider mountain also carries traces of copper mining, but the tree-and-cliff circuit provides a clear outdoor visit.
What to look for
- Dishui Cliff’s rock-and-water setting.
- The paired Chinese wingnut trees joining across the stream.
