PLACE GUIDE

Nanshan 南山

Nanshan is a group of wooded hills and visitor areas on Chongqing’s southern side, rather than one summit attraction.

A stone-stepped path climbing through autumn woodland, the steps covered with fallen brown leaves, with a moss-covered earth bank at the left and slender trees either side; the corner of a brick building shows at the right and a date stamp 2011/11/28 sits at the lower right.

Location & getting there

Getting to Nanshan

Choose a named Nanshan destination before the road transfer. Huangjueya Old Street on Chongwen Road is a practical first stop; the botanical garden and One Tree viewing area are separate destinations connected by local roads.

General visit reminders

Allow room for the terrain and weather when choosing your route. Check the operator’s current trail, shuttle and cableway notices where applicable, and confirm the return connection before setting out. A broad landscape pin does not identify every trailhead or access point.
