About Longyan Museum
Its Hakka Homeland exhibition traces migration through documents, photographs, objects and reconstructed settings. Family genealogies and overseas Chinese letters are especially useful for following connections between local households and communities abroad.
The museum also has a natural-history exhibition. Together, the two strands place Hakka settlement within the landscapes of western Fujian, rather than reducing the region to its earth buildings alone.
What to look for
- Hakka Homeland’s migration displays, including family documents and overseas correspondence.
- The tulou-influenced building and the Beautiful Homeland natural-history exhibition.
