About Daxu Ancient Town
Its principal historic street is paved in blue-grey stone and lined with older buildings, giving the visit a clear linear route. Temples, assembly-hall sites and the Longevity Bridge add separate architectural points along the wider old-town setting.
Start with the street rather than rushing between monuments. Changes in building frontage and the links towards the river help explain the settlement’s commercial past. The Longevity Bridge provides a contrasting structure after the domestic and trading buildings. This remains a town with ordinary daily life, so public streets and signed attractions should be distinguished from private interiors.
What to look for
- The stone-paved historic street is lined with older commercial and residential buildings.
- Longevity Bridge adds a distinctive crossing to the old-town circuit.
- Temple and assembly-hall sites record different community functions.
