About Guizhou Geological Museum
The entrance hall’s Guanling crinoid fossil slab is a useful first stop: its branching sea-lily forms reveal a marine world very different from today’s mountain province. The Mysterious Guizhou gallery continues with ancient life, while Colourful Guizhou examines changing landforms. Outside, the building’s shape draws on Fanjingshan’s Mushroom Stone, connecting the museum architecture with a recognisable geological landmark.
What to look for
- The Guanling crinoid fossil slab preserves a dense assemblage of sea-lily forms.
- Fossil, karst-landscape and mineral galleries explain contrasting parts of Guizhou’s geology.
