About Ganzhou Ancient Floating Bridge
Its wooden deck rests on connected boats, allowing the crossing to rise and fall with the river instead of standing on fixed stone piers. The bridge tradition dates to the Southern Song, but its working timber and boats require renewal. View the boat construction from the bank before crossing, and follow any access restrictions when river conditions change.
What to look for
- The connected wooden boats supporting the plank deck.
- The relationship between the crossing, Jianchun Gate and the Gong River.
