About Langya Mountain

The memorial museum at the foot introduces that history through photographs and objects, including images by wartime photographer Liu Feng. The memorial on Qipantuo Peak gives the story a very different physical setting among steep mountain slopes. Separating the museum visit from the ascent helps you decide how much of the mountain to attempt without turning the historical visit into an obligatory summit climb.

Getting to Langya Mountain

The memorial museum is at Dongxishui Village in Langyashan Town, Yi County; use this named village and museum for the road arrival.

  • Decide separately whether conditions and your ability allow the signed route toward Qipantuo Peak.
