About Tuyoq
Village buildings and grape cultivation occupy the greener ground beneath the dry cliffs, while nearby Buddhist cave remains add an earlier religious layer. The village, sacred places and archaeological caves have different access arrangements. A rewarding visit can focus on the public lanes and valley landscape without assuming every religious or archaeological space is open.
What to look for
- Oasis cultivation contrasts with the bare Flaming Mountains cliffs.
- Village architecture and nearby cave remains reveal different historical layers.
