About Golden Beach (Qingdao)
Its fine yellow sand and open Yellow Sea setting give it a different character from the compact bathing beaches below Qingdao’s old town. A rock offshore is locally called the Hidden Stone Frog because the tide changes how much of it is visible. Enjoy the beach from the maintained shore, and use only areas designated for bathing when they are operating.
What to look for
- The long crescent of fine golden sand facing the Yellow Sea.
- The offshore Stone Frog formation, whose visibility changes with the tide.
The surrounding area
Coastal city base; Badaguan and the wider Laoshan area are separate outings.
