Anguo Temple

Founded in 637 as Anji Temple (安吉寺), the temple later took its present name during the Song dynasty. The central Buddhist hall contains three painted Buddha figures, each 4.8 metres high, and sixty-eight murals narrating Shakyamuni’s (释迦牟尼) life. A Copper Pagoda Tower (铜塔楼) faces the reception hall, with bell and drum towers arranged on either side. Anguo received national cultural relic protection in June 2001.

Dadonggou’s forest setting

Dadonggou Forest Tourism Resort (大东沟森林旅游度假区) has woodland walking paths and camping areas. Its leisure facilities include a forest reading space, a yoga platform and an astronomical observation point. Lishi District Government also identifies capsule-style guest accommodation and tent hotels within the resort.
