About Leshan Museum
It stands on the east bank of the Min River near the first bridge, making it a natural contextual visit for the sculpture across the hillside. The museum has been undergoing exhibition renovation. A July 2026 response from the scenic-area authority estimated September trial operation, but a definite reopening was not verified; check the museum announcement before planning an interior visit.
What to look for
- Collections explaining Leshan’s Han–Tang history and Buddhist sculpture traditions.
