What to see
Bifengxia (碧峰峡) contains a base of the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (中国大熊猫保护研究中心). Other destinations include Shangli Ancient Town (上里古镇) and Wangyu Ancient Town (望鱼古镇), described by the district government as built upon rock. The Gaoyi gate towers (高颐阙) are a surviving Han-period cultural site.
Tea and the old road
The district’s Tea Horse Road (茶马古道) heritage includes Baima Spring and its stone inscriptions (白马泉及石刻). Tea-focused places include China Tibetan Tea Village (中国藏茶村), Tibetan Tea World (藏茶世界) and the Tibetan Tea Museum (藏茶博物馆).
