About Jinwan Plaza
Its European-influenced commercial buildings and open riverside platforms form a modern waterfront ensemble on land once within the French concession. The distinction matters: the plaza is not an untouched concession-era square. Use it for views across the river and for the contrast between the newer buildings, Jiefang Bridge and the historic streets behind the waterfront.
Construction of Jinwan Plaza began in 2008, and the second phase was completed in 2018. The plaza is bordered on the northeast by the Haihe and on the west by Jiefang North Road (解放北路), and is described as a landmark area of Tianjin's Financial City (天津金融城). The completed first phase consists of five above-ground commercial buildings together with an underground commercial street, arranged around an open plaza and a waterside platform along the river bend. The plaza is regarded as one of the landmark sights of the Haihe night view, and a replica of Gordon Hall (戈登堂), completed in 2010, stands nearby.
