About Fuxi Temple
The main Xiantian Hall combines a seated Fuxi image with a ceiling patterned around trigrams and hexagrams, connecting its decoration to the traditions associated with him. Carved doors, old trees and the smaller Taiji Hall reward a slower circuit. Read the complex as a surviving architectural setting for ritual and cultural memory rather than evidence for a literal prehistoric biography.
What to look for
- Xiantian Hall’s Fuxi image and trigram-related ceiling decoration.
- The ordered courtyards, carved timber doors and rear Taiji Hall.
The surrounding area
A southeastern chapter of Buddhist sculpture, historic streets and distinctive chilli-dressed snacks.
