About Man Mo Temple
The main temple honours the civil deity Man Cheong and the martial deity Kwan Tai; Lit Shing Kung serves a broader group of deities, while Kung Sor was a hall for community affairs. These different roles make the compound more than a single shrine.
Inside the worship spaces, hanging incense coils create a distinctive overhead pattern. Follow the individual halls in sequence and look at how their functions differ. This is an active religious site in Sheung Wan, so leave room for worshippers and follow local photography instructions around the altars.
What to look for
- Hanging incense coils create a layered interior atmosphere.
- Man Mo Temple, Lit Shing Kung and Kung Sor form three distinct spaces with different functions.
