About Korean Folk Customs Park of China
It presents the appearance of a village while accommodating restaurants, shops and organised cultural activities. The old-house experience area and the traditional-food section provide two concrete ways to explore the setting. Treat performances and participatory activities as scheduled programmes, and distinguish this constructed visitor environment from an unaltered historical village.
The park was built starting in 2011 as a project marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, one of Jilin province's '825' key construction projects, with a total investment of 1,877,447,100 yuan. Construction began on 25 April 2011, and a foundation ceremony was held on 13 May 2011 at the foot of Mao'er Mountain (帽儿山) in Yanji.
The park was completed and opened on 2 September 2012, and Yanji carried out a further upgrade in 2022. It covers 10 hectares and is organized into five zones: a traditional food experience zone, a century-old house experience zone, a traditional sports and performance zone, a traditional culture display zone and a traditional homestay zone.
