About Chengkan

The Luo Dongshu ancestral hall is the main architectural focus: its courtyards lead to Baolun Pavilion, where painted timber framing gives the interior colour and detail. Changchun Society Hall adds another form of communal architecture on Nanqian Street. Look beyond the white walls to the different functions of halls, gateways and courtyards that organised life in the settlement.

Location & getting there

Getting to Chengkan

Use Chengkan Village in Chengkan Town, north of Yansi in Huangshan’s Huizhou District. The Luo Dongshu hall stands at the northern end of the village beside the river; reach the village visitor entrance first and follow its signed historic route.
