History and buildings
Xijiashan Residence (夕佳山民居) is a former landlord’s manor in Xijiashan Town (夕佳山镇). Construction began in 1612 during the Ming dynasty and was completed in the middle Qing period. Nanmu woodland surrounds the buildings and provides habitat for egrets.
What to see
Yangtze Bamboo Island (长江竹岛), at Hezhongba Village (河中坝村), sits in the river opposite the county’s urban area. Its bamboo-themed design includes an elevated boardwalk and a waterside walking route around the island. Damiao Lotus Scenic Area (大妙荷花景区) combines lotus scenery with a Qing-period theatre and the Ming-period Baiyun Nunnery (白云庵).
