Junlian County 筠连县

Junlian County (筠连县) belongs to Yibin (宜宾), where the southern edge of the Sichuan Basin (四川盆地) meets the northern foothills of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau (云贵高原). It was an important staging point on the Southern Silk Road (南丝绸之路).

Museums and tea

The Southern Silk Road Cultural Park (南丝绸之路文化公园) stands in Fengshou Village (丰收村), Junlian Town (筠连镇). Its route-themed museum covers historical change, the county’s role at the Sichuan–Yunnan border and trade. The Junlian Black Tea Culture Museum (筠连红茶文化博物馆), within the same park, presents local tea history and production methods downstairs, with a tea-making, brewing and tasting space upstairs.

Setting and landscape

Chunfeng Village (春风村) is a karst mountain village five kilometres from the county town. Its flower landscape consists of plum orchards. Other named features include Longyintuo (龙隐坨) and Banshan Yunhai (半山云海).
