The Xiaozhan military legacy
Xiaozhan Military Training Park (小站练兵园) occupies the site of the New Army’s military lecture hall, where Yuan Shikai (袁世凯) supervised training. Its exhibitions include edged weapons, firearms, uniforms and military supplies. The training-history gallery and military museum form part of a complex that also includes barracks and Yuan’s headquarters.
Rice fields at Huiguan Village
During the Guangxu reign, general Zhou Shengchuan (周盛传) opened the Machangjian River (马厂减河) while combining troop training with land reclamation and rice cultivation. At Huiguan Village (会馆村), rice and crabs are raised together. In 2021, the village developed boardwalks, a viewing platform and a musical fountain around its rice-growing core, alongside rice-field crab fishing and agricultural study activities.
