A gateway and a stream crossing
The park stands on Shuimogou Road (水磨沟路), within a scenic area composed of Qingquan Mountain (清泉山), Wenquan Mountain (温泉山), Hongqiao Mountain (虹桥山) and the Shuimo River (水磨河). Its gateway imitates Qing-style architecture, with painted roof and beam decoration. Beyond it, Jiulong Bridge (九龙桥) crosses the stream. Twenty-four white-marble railing posts carry differently shaped stone lions, referring to the twenty-four solar terms.
Poems on granite slabs
Hanwen Ridge (翰文岭) extends for 360 metres. Its first construction phase, in 1999, placed fifteen differently shaped black granite slabs within artificial rockwork, each engraved with a poem about Shuimogou. A second phase begun in 2000 added illustrated reliefs of four poems by Ji Xiaolan (纪晓岚), along with bridges, pools and other garden features.
