What to see
Laomudeng and Zhiziluo bring together village scenery and the remains of an older urban centre. Zhiziluo retains the appearance of a town from the 1980s, while the surrounding scenic area includes Huangguan Mountain (皇冠山), Qilian Lake (七莲湖), rhododendron-covered hills and bamboo groves. Tea gardens and tea-garden paths are another feature of Laomudeng.
Nu music and mountain villages
Nu (怒族) dabia dance (达比亚) is a national intangible cultural heritage representative project associated with Laomudeng. O-dede folk singing (哦得得), the Rumiqi festival (如密期) and mouth-harp music have provincial listings. Shiyueliang Township (石月亮乡) occupies the deep valley between the Gaoligong Mountains (高黎贡山) and Biluo Snow Mountains (碧罗雪山).
