Setting and landscape
Panda Valley combines clear pools, waterfalls and steep cliffs, with winding paths among the mountains. In Foping, the forests of the central Qinling’s southern slope contain overlapping stands of Bashan bamboo (巴山木竹) and Qinling arrow bamboo (秦岭箭竹), providing food for giant pandas through the year.
What to see
Daguping Village (大古坪村), in Yuebao Town (岳坝镇), lies within Foping Nature Reserve (佛坪自然保护区). Its nature-study activities include honey harvesting, study walks and biological observation. Foping Old Street (佛坪老街) has snack stalls, shops selling mountain produce and locally themed design products.
