Lake and farmland

The salt lake covers about 132 square kilometres. Mountains frame the district to the north and south, with rivers and canals crossing the district. Pears, apples, grapes, melons and chives are among the district’s agricultural products.

Xiezhou Guandi Temple

Xiezhou Guandi Temple (解州关帝庙) contains Wumen Gate (午门), the Imperial Calligraphy Tower (御书楼), Chongning Hall (崇宁殿) and Chunqiu Tower (春秋楼). Beside Chongning Hall, the western storehouse once held the vessels used in sacrificial ceremonies. The temple’s collections include old printed books, woodblocks, account books, rent registers, contracts and receipts, preserving records alongside its architecture. Among the books are the Complete Gazetteer of Xiezhou (解州全志) and Records of the Three Kingdoms (三国志).
