What to see

Zhongyan’s three temple areas occupy upper, middle and lower levels. Stone paths wind towards the summit, and surviving cliff sculptures include many Tang- and Song-period Buddhist figures. Huanyu Pool (唤鱼池), the Calling Fish Pool, is linked in local tradition with the courtship of Su Shi (苏轼) and Wang Fu (王弗), who are said to have independently suggested the same name.

Crafts and local products

At International Bamboo Art City (国际竹艺城), the bamboo-basket-shaped exhibition building rises 48.8 metres, with twelve galleries across five floors. Objects range from fishing tools and oil baskets to sieves, carrying baskets and cooking utensils. The surrounding grounds grow more than three hundred varieties of ornamental and useful bamboo.
