What to see
Shenglian Island (圣莲岛) has lotus ponds with boardwalks and a World Lotus Expo Garden (世界荷花博览园) displaying many varieties. The district government also describes boating from the landing onto Guanyin Lake (观音湖) to view the lotus flowers.
Food and local products
Local snacks include Guo Liangfen (呙凉粉), served with red chilli oil and a sour, spicy flavour. Wang Ciba (王糍粑) is hand-pounded sticky rice cake coated in soybean flour and brown sugar. Chong (冲) is a spring roll distinguished by the sharp taste of yellow mustard. Lotus-themed dishes include fried lotus flowers and pork ribs steamed in lotus leaves.
