Buddhist sites

Rongxian Giant Buddha (荣县大佛) anchors a scenic area southeast of the urban centre. Its other sights include Zhennan Pagoda (镇南塔), a scripture repository (藏经楼), Guanyin Pavilion (观音阁) and Tang- and Song-period cliff sculptures. Gufosi (古佛寺), one kilometre west of town, contains a 4.6-metre Buddha carved from a natural boulder beside the Xu River (旭水河).

Crafts and countryside

The Earthenware Creative Park (土陶创意园), on Dongchuan Avenue (东川大道), combines product development, training, exhibitions and hands-on exchanges. At Hualong Gully (花龙沟) in Changshan Town (长山镇), bamboo, streams and steep rock walls fill an eight-kilometre valley.
