Glass landmark and coastal habitats
The High-Heel Wedding Church (高跟鞋教堂) in Budai Seaview Park (布袋海景公園) is a blue-glass structure about seventeen metres high and eleven metres wide. Its frame uses 1,269 steel members with 320 glass panels. Haomeiliao (好美寮) has a coastal landscape of lagoons, sandbars, windbreak woodland and mangroves, with fiddler crabs, mudskippers and oysters on lagoon mudflats. Haomeili 3D Marine World (好美里3D海洋世界) adds painted marine scenes to the fishing village.
Oysters and the fish market
Budai Fishing Harbour (布袋漁港) supports a market divided into fresh seafood, processed products and dining areas. Oyster and clam farming are local specialities. Oyster buns, oyster omelettes, fried oysters and oyster vermicelli feature among the market snacks, alongside fried crab and cuttlefish.
