What to see

The 38-metre tower stands at Wufu Road (五福路) and Guanghua Road (光華路). Its rounded tank is painted in seven colours, while the distribution pipes have been retained for their historical value. Seven landscape artworks and glass mosaics linked by fibre-optic light strips turn the grounds into an outdoor art space, including a mosaic map of Kaohsiung.

The waterfront

Singuang Wharf (新光碼頭), beside the 85 Tower (85大樓), has a wooden boardwalk, viewing platforms and an elevated circular walkway overlooking the harbour. Its children’s water-play area uses red sprinklers modelled on container cranes. The Exhibition Center (高雄展覽館), Main Public Library (高雄圖書總館) and China Steel building (中鋼大樓) form part of the surrounding cityscape.
