Decorated facades and food
Daxi Old Street (大溪老街) mixes Minnan decorative traditions with Baroque-inspired storefronts. Dried tofu and moonlight cakes (月光餅) are local foods associated with the street. The Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum (大溪木藝生態博物館) spreads across several buildings, including No. 1 Hall (壹號館), Wude Hall (武德殿), the history museum (大溪歷史館) and the Fong Fei-fei Story House (鳳飛飛故事館). Its displays connect woodcraft with everyday local life.
A historic route and river terraces
Yuemei Trail (月眉古道) linked the old town with Yuemei during the late Qing and Japanese periods. Surviving stone paving leads towards historic buildings including Lee Teng-fan’s residence (李騰芳古宅). Nearby Zhongzheng Park (中正公園) preserves pavilions from its history and overlooks the Dahan River’s terraces.
