Tea terraces and bamboo
Xiucai Hiking Trail (秀才登山步道) passes tea-growing terraces and bamboo woodland. An official 2026 itinerary describes both gentle path sections and stone steps, with different approaches through the tea landscape. Puxin Ranch (埔心牧場) is another local stop, with cattle, sheep and capybaras on its grounds.
School housing and old streets
Yangmei Story Park (楊梅故事園區) reuses the former principal’s and teachers’ housing of Yangmei Junior High School. Its three restored buildings include the principal’s residence, Little White House (小白宮) and Xizhaolu (西照閭), interpreting community efforts to establish education and Hakka respect for learning. Fugang Old Street (富岡老街) preserves another part of the district’s historic streetscape.
