Tea among the pines

Shuiyuan Village (水源村), in Longtan Town (龙滩镇), occupies the western foot of the middle Huaying Mountains (华蓥山), at roughly 1,100 metres. Tea rows rise in terraces among pine woods. Visitors can take part in picking, processing and tasting tea; the village also has a tea exhibition centre and tasting platforms. At Qiaojiao Village (桥角村) in Guangxing Town (广兴镇), lotus ponds flower in June, while dried lotus seeds and lotus-seed tea are local products.

Forest and factory remains

Sifang Mountain (四方山), in Guixing Town (桂兴镇), has forest walkways and a viewing platform at 1,100 metres. A different material landscape survives at the former Yongguang Instrument Factory (永光仪器厂): weathered grey brick walls and old machinery preserve traces of the district's industrial past.
