What to see
The Beiguan Stone Archway Scenic Area (北关石牌坊景区) contains five stone arches, including three honouring good government, one commemorating filial sons and the gateway of Yuwang Palace (禹王宫). Its exhibition venues include a stone-archway gallery and an exhibition named Niu Shumei’s Official Residence (牛树梅官邸). The layout also interprets the old post road, inns and local folk culture.
Setting and landscape
Guyu Lake is an artificial lake built in the 1970s. More than ten islands break up the water, with wooded shores, wetlands, wild ducks and grey cranes forming the surrounding scene. Lakeside walking and wetland cycling are among the recreational activities described by the city government.
