Forestry and education
Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park (林田山林業文化園區) preserves wooden buildings and old railway tracks from the logging industry. The Principal Dream Factory (校長夢工廠), adapted from former official housing, presents educational history and personal stories in a Japanese-style wooden building. The nearby Hakka Cultural Museum (客家文物館) displays traditional objects, clothing and memories of rural life.
Farm products and snacks
Former tobacco buildings retain tall roofs and ventilation windows. Local peanut products include salted peanuts, chunky peanut butter and peanut soup. Fenglin’s chive-topped stinky tofu (韭菜臭豆腐) pairs crisp tofu with chopped green chives and sauce. Soy milk made with locally grown Hualien No. 1 soybeans (花蓮1號黃豆) is another local product.
