A ship-shaped church and food streets
Panding Church (磐頂教會) has a boat-shaped exterior in blue and white, with landscaping inspired by Noah’s Ark. Donghai Art Street (東海藝術街) gathers distinctive craft shops, cafes and home-decoration stores. Nearby Donghai Night Market (東海夜市) grew with the local educational community; foods include chicken-foot jelly, flatbreads, Fuzhou buns and tofu pudding.
Trails and a reused lookout
The Zhukeng–Nanliao walking trails (竹坑南寮登山步道) combine wooden walkways and stone paving, with viewpoints over the Dadu River mouth and Taichung Port. At Lishui Fishing Harbour (麗水漁港), a disused coastguard checkpoint became a blue-and-white lookout; the seawall offers river views, birdwatching and sunsets.
