Life, Earth and culture
The Life Science Hall (生命科學廳) follows the origins, evolution and adaptation of living things across thirteen display areas. The Earth Environment Hall (地球環境廳) includes minerals and Taiwan’s natural ecology. In the Human Cultures Hall (人類文化廳), themes range from Chinese medicine and agricultural ecology to Taiwan’s Austronesian peoples and Oceania. The Science Center (科學中心) encourages visitors to learn through hands-on displays and activities.
The botanical garden
The 4.5-hectare Botanical Garden (植物園) focuses on Taiwan’s low-elevation ecosystems and tropical rainforest. Its outdoor areas represent coral-reef terrain, coastal forest and different regional environments. Native trees, shrubs, herbs and ferns grow here, with more than 800 plant types across the garden and greenhouse.
